Stress Relaxation , Creep
Several machines exist for testing material properties. For instance, some testing machines evaluate the stress relaxation characteristics over a long period by deforming (straining) a material by a predetermined amount at a constant temperature. Other machines assess the creep characteristics by applying a constant load over a long period and measuring the amount of deformation (strain) the material undergoes at a constant temperature.
